Farm Yard Equipment sells equipment backed by a one-year manufacturer’s warranty, unless a different warranty period is stated on the product page, invoice, or manufacturer documentation.
The warranty begins on the original date of purchase and applies only to the original purchaser.
What the Warranty Covers
The manufacturer’s warranty generally covers defects in materials or workmanship that occur during normal and intended use.
At the manufacturer’s discretion, an approved warranty claim may be resolved by:
- Repairing the defective part
- Supplying a replacement part
- Replacing the product
- Providing another remedy approved by the manufacturer
The remedy offered will depend on the nature of the defect, product availability, and the manufacturer’s warranty terms.
What the Warranty Does Not Cover
The warranty does not cover damage, failure, or wear caused by:
- Normal wear and tear
- Improper assembly, installation, adjustment, or maintenance
- Failure to grease, lubricate, service, or inspect the equipment properly
- Misuse, abuse, neglect, or operating the equipment beyond its rated capacity
- Accidents, collisions, rollovers, fire, flooding, or other external damage
- Use with an unsuitable tractor, skid steer, power unit, PTO, hydraulic system, or attachment
- Modification, alteration, or unauthorized repairs
- Use of non-approved parts or accessories
- Rust, corrosion, fading, scratches, dents, or cosmetic damage
- Improper transportation, loading, unloading, or storage
- Continued use after a problem or defect becomes apparent
- Commercial abuse, rental use, or use outside the equipment’s intended purpose
Wear Items and Consumable Parts
Normal wear items and consumable parts are not covered unless the manufacturer confirms that the failure resulted from a manufacturing defect.
Examples may include:
- Blades and cutting edges
- Tines and teeth
- Belts
- Chains
- Bearings
- Seals
- Shear bolts
- Slip-clutch components
- Hydraulic hoses
- Tires and wheels
- Filters

- The product model and serial number
- A clear description of the problem
- Photographs and videos showing the issue

The equipment must not be dismantled, repaired, modified, or returned without prior written authorization.
Failure to provide the requested information may delay or prevent warranty approval.
Manufacturer Approval
All warranty claims are subject to inspection and approval by the manufacturer.
Farm Yard Equipment cannot guarantee that a claim will be approved. The manufacturer will determine whether the problem is covered and what remedy will be provided.
A failed part may need to be returned for inspection before a decision is made. Parts returned without authorization may not be accepted or credited.
Labour and Repair Costs
Unless specifically approved in writing before the repair is completed, the warranty does not cover:
- Dealer labour
- Customer labour
- Diagnostic charges
- Mobile service calls
- Travel time
- Equipment rental
- Downtime
- Lost income
- Crop loss
- Towing
- Installation or removal costs
Do not authorize repairs or purchase replacement parts expecting reimbursement unless Farm Yard Equipment has provided written approval.
Shipping and Transportation Costs
The customer may be responsible for transportation, shipping, removal, installation, and related costs associated with a warranty claim.
Farm Yard Equipment or the manufacturer may provide replacement parts without charge when a claim is approved. However, freight charges may still apply unless otherwise confirmed in writing.
The customer is responsible for safely delivering equipment to the approved repair or inspection location when required.
Replacement Parts
Replacement parts supplied under warranty are covered for the remainder of the original warranty period. Supplying a replacement part does not restart or extend the original warranty period.
The manufacturer may provide a new, rebuilt, remanufactured, or equivalent replacement part.
Maintenance Responsibilities
The customer is responsible for operating and maintaining the equipment according to the owner’s manual and manufacturer instructions.
This includes completing all required:
- Greasing and lubrication
- Fluid checks and changes
- Bolt and fastener inspections
- Belt, chain, clutch, and driveline adjustments
- Cleaning
- Seasonal maintenance
- Storage preparation
- Safety inspections
Proof of proper maintenance may be required before a warranty claim is approved.
Unauthorized Returns
Do not return equipment or parts without receiving a return authorization from Farm Yard Equipment.
Unauthorized returns may be refused and returned to the customer at the customer’s expense.
Limitations
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Farm Yard Equipment is not responsible for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses resulting from equipment failure, including lost revenue, lost production, downtime, rental costs, crop loss, or damage to other equipment.
This policy does not limit any rights or remedies that cannot legally be excluded under applicable Canadian consumer protection laws.
How to Submit a Claim
To begin a warranty claim, contact Farm Yard Equipment and include your invoice number, model, serial number, description of the issue, and supporting photographs or videos.
Do not continue operating equipment that may be unsafe or where continued use could cause further damage. Damage caused by continued operation may not be covered.
