Free Shipping and Pickup Policy
Farm Yard Equipment offers free pickup in Edmonton, Alberta, as well as free shipping on eligible equipment to participating freight terminals across Canada.
Free Pickup in Edmonton
Customers may pick up their orders free of charge from our Edmonton warehouse.
Once your order is ready, we will email or call you with pickup instructions and available pickup times. Please do not arrive until you have received confirmation that your order is ready.
You may pick up your equipment using a suitable pickup truck, trailer, cube van, or commercial carrier. Customers are responsible for bringing an appropriately sized and properly rated vehicle.
Loading assistance is available for most equipment. The customer is responsible for securing the equipment safely before leaving the warehouse.
Free Shipping to a Freight Terminal
Eligible equipment may be shipped free of charge to a participating freight terminal near your location.
The freight carrier will contact you when your order is ready for pickup. Most terminals can load the equipment onto your pickup truck, trailer, or commercial vehicle using a forklift.
Customers are responsible for:
- Picking up the order within the terminal’s permitted storage period
- Bringing a suitable vehicle or trailer
- Properly securing the equipment
- Paying any storage, redelivery, or missed-pickup charges
We will make reasonable efforts to locate a freight terminal near you. Terminal availability varies by region, and the nearest participating terminal may be outside your city or more than one hour from your location.
Eligible Products and Locations
Free terminal shipping applies only to eligible products and qualifying Canadian destinations.
Free shipping may not be available for:
- Remote or difficult-to-service locations
- Northern communities
- Newfoundland and Labrador
- Yukon, Northwest Territories, or Nunavut
- Islands or locations requiring ferry service
- Oversized or exceptionally heavy equipment
- Locations where no participating freight terminal is available
We reserve the right to determine whether a destination or product qualifies for free shipping.
When free shipping is unavailable, we will contact you before shipping the order and provide a freight quote. No additional freight charges will be applied without your approval.
Residential and Farm Delivery
Free shipping does not include delivery to a residence, farm, acreage, jobsite, or other location without a commercial loading dock.
Direct delivery may be available for an additional charge. To request a quote, please provide:
- Your postal code
- Whether the destination is a residence, farm, or commercial business
- Whether a forklift, tractor, skid steer, or other unloading equipment is available
- Whether the delivery road and yard are accessible to a full-size transport truck
- Details about gates, narrow roads, steep slopes, low branches, soft ground, or other possible obstructions
When possible, we will credit the standard cost of shipping to the nearest eligible freight terminal and charge only the additional cost of direct delivery.
Liftgate service does not guarantee that the carrier can unload all equipment. Some products may be too large or heavy for liftgate delivery.
Shipping Times
Estimated shipping and delivery dates are not guaranteed. Delays may occur because of weather, carrier capacity, road conditions, terminal schedules, or other circumstances outside our control.
We will provide tracking or shipment information when available.
Inspecting Your Shipment
Please inspect your order carefully before leaving the freight terminal or accepting delivery.
If the packaging or equipment appears damaged:
- Take clear photographs of the damage
- Ask the carrier to record the damage on the delivery receipt
- Do not sign the shipment as received in good condition
- Contact Farm Yard Equipment immediately
Visible freight damage that is not noted on the carrier’s delivery receipt may be difficult or impossible to claim afterward.
Do not discard damaged packaging or shipping materials until the claim has been reviewed.
Additional Charges
Free shipping covers standard transportation to the approved freight terminal only.
The customer is responsible for additional charges caused by:
- Terminal storage
- Failure to pick up the shipment on time
- Redelivery
- Address changes after shipment
- Refused shipments
- Special appointments
- Limited-access delivery
- Incorrect or incomplete delivery information
- Additional carrier services requested by the customer
Order Changes and Cancellations
Orders that have already been prepared, transferred, or shipped may be subject to cancellation, return-freight, restocking, or handling charges.
Please contact us as soon as possible if you need to change or cancel an order.
